Hi new friends, my name is River. The humans say that my floppy-loppy ears and fuzzy face melt their hearts. I'm a young good boy, just about one year old. And I'm neutered, so I'm available for adoption, which is very exciting. I'd really be so happy if whoever adopts me understands bunnies who need time to get to know people. You see, someone found me as a stray at a nearby pond. I was foraging and fending for myself so I had to learn how to be independent. Now that I have people in my corner, I'm learning it is okay to trust them. But it does take me time. When I do learn that I am safe with someone, I do a pretty good job of enjoying my time with them. I really appreciate it when the staff and volunteers at the shelter make sure they are slowly introducing themselves to me. I don't feel pressure that way and then it is easier for me to adjust to them. I've heard the humans here say that it is helpful that I like some treats. When they bring me fresh flowers to snack on, it helps me to get to know them. And have you seen those fun little bowls that us bunnies play with? I really like to play with them. It's enriching and it is fun! I know I'm looking for a specific adopter, but I also know that the humans say I have so much potential and that there are good people out there to help bunnies like me learn to trust them.
