Leia is a beautiful one-year old female kitty who was brought to the HSOV on September 11, 2023 by a Good Samaritan who found her in the Newport Ohio area along with her four 2-month old female kittens (Chewie, Han, Luke, and R-2). Leia has a brown tabby short smooth coat with a patch of white on her chest, white socks on her paws, a long ringed tail, and a lovely face with dark golden/copper-colored eyes, a brown velvet nose, and long white whiskers. These photos of Leia were taken on September 20, 2023 while she explored new territory in our 'studio' and showed us her fun-loving personality. She weighed 7.2 lbs that day. Leia was given vaccinations, Pyrantel wormer, and flea treatment on September 26, 2023. She was given booster vaccines on October 22, 2023. Fortunately for Leia and her kittens, one of our wonderful foster mothers offered them a temporary home on September 29th so that Leia could raise her babies in a quiet home environment instead of a small shelter cage. Leia (with assistance from foster mother Lynn Bostrom) raised four happy, socialized kittens. This little family came back to HSOV on November 27th since they had spay appointments bright and early the following morning. Leia was spayed on November 28, 2023 and was also given rabies vaccine. She weighed 7.8 lbs that day. Leia and her kittens are ready to find homes of their very own either through adoption or rescue. Naturally we'd love to see the kittens adopted in pairs (or with their sweet momma). Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (XXXX@suddenlink.net).
